MUFON Sacramento is the local chapter of Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), an international nonprofit organization dedicated to the scientific study of UFO's for the benefit of humanity, since 1969. MUFON is the largest UFO organization in the U.S. with over 2,500 members worldwide. Every U.S state, Canadian province, thirty-six foreign countries, and almost every county in the U.S. have MUFON chapters.

MUFON investigates UFO reports worldwide, publishes a monthly journal and sponsors an annual symposium. The local MUFON chapter meets monthly to present current research and cases and networking opportunities.
